What We Need For This Craft Activity, STEAM Activity

• 1 Clear plastic gloves
• 1 Paper cup or plastic cup
• 1 Straw
• Paper
• Markers or colored pencils
• Glue
• Scissors

 

How to Do the Craft Activity, STEAM Activity, Make A Inflatable Glove Monster

1. Design Your Monster Eyes and Eyelashes: Start by drawing and coloring five monster eyes and five eyelashes on the paper to put them on the five fingers of the clear plastic glove. You can get creative with the eye and eyelash designs, making them as silly or spooky as you like.

   

   

   

2. Make A Monster’s Mouth And A Skirt: The monster’s mouth will be attached to the glove, and the skirt will be attached to the cup, which will serve as the body of your monster. You can add any features or designs you want.

   

3. Glue or Tape Eyes and Lashes To the Glove. 

   

4. Make a Hole in the Cup: Using a pair of scissors, carefully poke a small hole on one side of the cup.
5. Insert the Straw: Take the straw and insert it into the hole you made in the cup. It should fit snugly.

 

 

 

6. Attach the Glove to the Cup: Use tape to attach the open end of the glove (the wrist part) to the top part of the cup. Make sure it’s securely attached so that no air can escape.

 

7. Inflate Your Monster: Hold the cup in one hand and put your mouth on the straw and blow into it gently. As you blow air into the cup through the straw, the glove should inflate, making it look like your monster is rising up.

8. Play and Experiment: Once your inflatable monster glove is filled with air, you can play with it, make it move, or even give it a voice. Experiment with how much air you need to inflate it just right for your desired effect.

9. Have Fun: Enjoy your inflatable monster glove and use your imagination to come up with games or stories involving your new creation.

 

Variations & Challenges

• Multicolor Monster: Instead of a single-colored glove, use a variety of colored gloves to create a multi-colored monster.
• Educational Monsters: Create glove monsters that represent different educational themes, such as a math monster with numbers and equations, or a geography monster with maps and landmarks. This adds an educational element to the activity.
• Storytelling Challenges: After creating their monsters, challenge kids to write a short story or create a character profile for their monster, promoting creativity and storytelling skills.
